- Power on the computer after plugging in the modem
- When Windows detects the modem, the message "The wizard will complete the installation of: PCI Serial Controller" is displayed.
- Click on "Next", then click on "Other Location",
- Type in the path to the driver then click "OK"
- Windows displays "Windows found the following updated driver for this device: Rockwell PCI Modem Enumerator".
- Click "Finish" and Windows displays "Please insert the disk labeled 'WIN95 Installation Disk', click OK."
- Click "OK" and enter the path again. Installation should then complete automatically.
- Restart your computer to active DOS support.
UNinstall older versions of PCI Driver in Win95:
- Under START --> SETTING --> CONTROL PANEL --> SYSTEM --> DEVICE MANGER
- Remove PCI modem within HCFMODEM and MODEM
- Delete existing INF files
- On OSR2 Windows95, delete all RSS*.INF, RRI*.INF and Wacwave.inf in the Windows\Inf directory and all ROCK*.INF files in the Windows\Inf\Other directory.
- On non-OSR2 Windows 95, delete all OEM*.INF files in the Windows\Inf directory that contains the text "HCF"
OR
- Use this file: infunist.exe
- Please save this file in the tempoary directory
OR
- UNinstalling driver using the uninstaller
- Click on the "Add/Remove Progroms" icon under Control Panel
- Select "Rockwell HCF 56K Modem" under the "Install/Uninstall" tab and click on "Add/Remove"
- When completed successfully, the INF files, VXD files and registry entries used by the modem installation are deleted from the hard disk.
- The system should be reboot at this point if a modem is to be reinstalled.
- Insure that the modem has not been previous installed. If it has been installed, it is necessary to run the part uninstall procedures.
- Save 23nt.exe into a temporary directory (example: c:\temp)
- Extract the 23nt.exe , then run c:\temp\setup.exe: this will start Rockwell Modem Board Installation Wizard.
- From the opening screen click on "Next"
- Select the proper driver name, normally only one will be shown.
- Click on "Next"
- Click on "Finish"
- Restart your computer.
- When using WinNT 4.0 it is necessary to fully uninstall the modem before attempting to reinstall the modem. This requires two simple steps.
- Uninstall the Modem:
- Double click on "My Computer icon" --> Control Panel --> Modems
- Select modem to uninstall
- Click on "Remove"
- Verify the operation by clicking "Yes"
- Click on "Close"
- Reboot your computer
- Uninstall the Comm Port and Driver files:
- Double Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Select the modem name to uninstall, then click on Add/Remove
- Click on "Next"
- Click on "Finish"
- WinNT will ask you to restart WinNT, click OK!
In order to utilize voice feature of this modem, you need to install Microsoft Unimodem V driver first before you install communication software TRIO. Follow the steps below to setup MS Unimodem V:
- Insert your modem device CD into CD drive,
- TRIO installation process will appear, click "X" to exit the TRIO installation process
- Click on START, then go to PROGRAM and WINDOWS EXPLORER.
- In WINDOWS EXPLORER, click your CD drive, and double click then go to UNIMODV directory.
- Right click your mouse on Unimodv icon and then left click on "instll" to excute the installation program.
- Reboot you system when finished.
- After you have installed the Microsoft UnimodemV driver, you can now install the TRIO
- Insert the CD, the TRIO installation process will appear.
- Click "NEXT" to continue, then follow the direstions on the screen, you will complete the installation process.
